Though I have spent my whole life in
Central Europe I have tight connections to Norway. My mother
worked as the Norwegian Ambassadors' assistant for 13 years
during my childhood.
Following in my mother's footsteps I was employed by the
Royal Norwegian Embassy. Later in 1993 I was appointed as
Head of the Commercial Section. We became the Best Foreign
Office of Norwegian Trade Council in 1993-94. In 2008 my
responsibility expanded to include the Czech Republic and
Slovakia as well. Since 2010 I am working as external
consultant.
During these years I made many Norwegians friends and became
familiar with their mentality, life style and business
culture.
In spite the fact that we are both European countries we
have to admit that our business culture, style, negotiation
techniques, economic background and experiences are quite
different. This may hamper the common work.
My goal is to assist international companies in understanding
the Central-Eastern European culture. It does not matter
whether a company deals with chocolate trade or environment
friendly packaging. To become successful in Central-Eastern
Europe there is a need for proper information, well explored
opportunities, best possible partner and smooth cooperation.
